Maggie Weiland is the Executive Director of the San Francisco Entertainment Commission, where she leads efforts to support and regulate the city’s nightlife and entertainment sectors. A Bay Area native and passionate advocate for local artists, musicians, and small businesses, she first joined the Commission in 2015, later stepping into leadership in 2018 under Mayor London Breed’s appointment. Weiland’s public service career began in 2010, holding positions in the offices of Mayors Newsom and Lee, the Department of Environment, and the Film Commission. She also served as San Francisco lead for the Harvey Milk Foundation, promoting LGBTQ+ equality globally. Weiland holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco.
